Wizards game tonight postponed E-mail
Washington Wizards

It seems 30+ inches of snow [what I measured in my backyard] is enough to overcome the NBA -- the Washington Wizards home game against the Atlanta Hawks scheduled for tonight has been postponed. We go first to the Wizards team statement:
WASHINGTON, DC - Due to the inclement weather in and around the nation's capital, tonight's NBA game between the Washington Wizards and Atlanta Hawks at Verizon Center has been postponed.
As a result of the conditions, neither the Wizards nor Hawks were able to fly to Washington after their respective games last night. The date for the rescheduled game will be announced at a later time. Ticket exchange procedures will also be announced shortly.
And NBA chimes in with this:
NEW YORK, Feb. 6, 2010 - The National Basketball Association game scheduled for this evening between the Atlanta Hawks and the Washington Wizards at Verizon Center has been postponed due to severe weather conditions in the Washington, D.C. area.
As a result of those conditions, neither the Hawks nor Wizards were able to fly to Washington after their respective games last night. The date for the rescheduled game will be announced at a later time.
The Wizards are still in Orlando after their thrilling come-from-behind victory over the Southeast Division-leading Magic. They're staying two extra nights and will fly to Charlotte on Monday afternoon for the game against the Bobcats on Tuesday night, the team's last game before the NBA All Star break. The Hawks defeated the Chicago Bulls in Chicago on Friday night, but wisely never attempted to fly in to Washington, D.C.
Fans with tickets to tonight's game can use them to attend a February 17 match against the Minnesota Timberwolves or another yet-to-be-announced game.
