Fantasy Pulse: Week 7 Extra Point

Written by Adam Jennings on . Posted in Fantasy Sports Coverage

Oakland Raiders 26, Jacksonville Jaguars 23

Jaguars- The big news from this one is the injury to RB Maurice Jones-Drew.  With MJD likely missing time, Rashad Jennings becomes an instant pick-up.  Jennings can be safely used as a RB2.  WR Cecil Shorts scored his third TD of the season and is a decent bye week filler.

Raiders- TE Brandon Myers has emerged as a quality backup TE in PPR leagues.  Myers has at least 4 receptions in five of his team's six games.  He has yet to catch a TD this year, but he's good for about 10 points a week in PPR leagues.

New England Patriots 29, New York Jets 26

Jets- WR Jeremy Kerley is quickly emerging as a quality WR3 (7 receptions for 120 yards).  Kerley should be owned in all leagues.  RB Shonn Greene has now strung together two quality games (88 total yards and a score) and has regained his RB2 status.

Patriots- WR Brandon Lloyd got the looks (8 targets), but didn't get the production (1 reception for 6 yards).  Don't be concerned, Lloyd is going to get hot soon.  Keep starting your Pats' receiving options (TEs Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, WRs Wes Welker and Lloyd).

Pittsburgh Steelers 24, Cincinnati Bengals 17

Steelers- TE Heath Miller has become an elite fantasy TE.  Miller caught his fifth TD pass of the season and has only had one game with less than 4 receptions.  Some may be tempted to sell high, but with the Pittsburgh run game in flux, Miller is going to continue to get a lot of redzone looks.

Bengals- RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis isn't having a horrible season, he's just not having the season fantasy owners would like him to be having.  The fact that RB Cedric Peerman got a redzone carry and TD is definitely concerning, but I still think Green-Ellis is a quality RB2, who will starting heating up after their bye week.

Chicago Bears 13, Detroit Lions 7

Lions- I can't stress this enough, WR Calvin Johnson is the best buy low target in fantasy.  Do whatever it takes to get him on your squad.  QB Matthew Stafford continues to struggle, but remains another quality buy low candidate.

Bears- RB Michael Bush has been pretty much phased out of the Chicago rushing attack.  Which means you should only own him if you have Matt Forte.  Forte and WR Brandon Marshall are the only Bears that should be in your lineup.
