Caps are pretenders, Habs advance

Wow.

Just wow.

The Washington Capitals, the number 1 seed, the winner of the President's Trophy, surrenders a 3-1 series lead, and loses three consecutive games, to be eliminated by the 8th seed Montreal Canadians.  The fiercely vaunted Capitals offense went out of the playoffs with not even a small whimper.  In the last two games, the Capitals have managed to score just 2 goals.  That's it.

Stunning.  Embarrassing.

As we wrote in this morning's Red Alert, it was time it Put up or Shut up, and for us, the Washington Capitals faithful, it is time to sit down and shut up.

The Washington Capitals season is over.  The only thing left to ponder now, what next?  What changes will come for Washington in the off-season?
