Caps Varly changes jersey number

Caps goalie Semyon Varlamov will be making another change this season.  Last season, Varlamov made some pronunciation changes to his name, in addition to a spelling change, converting Simeon to Semyon and clarifying that Varlamov is now VarLAmov.

This off-season brings another change.  Varlamov is changing his jersey number from #40 to #1.  Valramov and fellow youngster Michael Neuvirth are set to be the goalie tandem in Washington this year.  Caps did not resign Theodore and did not make any free agent acquisitions at goaltender.  As far as which one will start, that is an open question.

Wonder how 2 time Calder Cup champ Michal Neuvirth feels about that?
