Capitals Hire John Walton as New Radio Play-by-Play Voice

The Washington Capitals announced today that they have hired former Hershey Bears radio play-by-play man John Walton to be the team's new radio announcer. He replaces fan favorite Steve Kolbe, who spent 14 years on the job.
Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau told Walton the news early this morning, and he is already making his waydown the I-83 to Washington.
Walton, 39, has spent the past nine seasons announcing Hershey Bears' home and away games, and he was a natural choice after the Capitals informed Kolbe that they would look to open the position to new candidates. Kolbe was reportedly welcome to interview for the position.
The Washington Capitals will have a new radio sound next season.
"Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Night Caps Fans!"
