Alzner recalled, Poti out
The Washington Capitals have recalled D Karl Alzner. Alzner was Washington's 2007 first round pick. In 56 games with minor league affiliate Hershey Bears, Alzner scored 3 goals and 18 assists and was a whopping +34. He played in 21 games with Washington and recorded 0 goals and 5 assists and was a -2.
D Tom Poti took a nasty puck to the face last night and suffered an eye injury. He will not play tomorrow night in Game 7. Matter of fact, don't expect to see Poti back anytime soon.
Poti flew back with the team last night and was scheduled to have surgery today. Coach Bruce Boudreau estimated Poti would miss two to three weeks, meaning if the Capitals win tomorrow, they would be without him at least until the conference finals.
