Caps pre-game injury report

The Washington Capitals face off tonight against the San Jose Sharks.  In fact, this is one of two rare meetings against the Sharks, in the next 9 days.  The Caps and Sharks have nearly identical won/loss records, with Washington at 29-15-10 and San Jose at 28-19-6.

Michal Neuvirth was the first off the ice today, indicating he will get the nod between the pipes.  Makes sense, given the fact, Neuvy is coming off a big shutout against Pittsburgh.  On the season, Neuvirth is 16-6-4 with a GAA of 2.46 and a .910 save percentage.

The Caps will welcome back Alexander Semin.  HC Bruce Boudreau did confirm Semin will be in the lineup tonight.  Semin has been nursing a groin injury and has not been on the ice since January 8th.  Semin’s return left to Jay Beagle’s demotion back to Hershey.

The availability of Mike Green is a game time decision.  Green took a brutal puck to the ear on Sunday that cause significant bleeding on the ice.  I would not look for Green tonight.  Don’t look for the returns of Eric Fher or Tom Poti tonight.
