Washington Capitals GM George McPhee wa sunimpressed with the 2011 NHL Draft class.  Especially down at #26.  Instead, he dealt that pick to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for F Troy Brouwer.  Brouwer was a restricted free agent.

The Capitals completed that process today, signing Brouwer to a two year contract.

Alzner remains the lone Caps restricted free agent to yet be signed.

Former Washington Capitals, acquired at the trade deadline last season, Jason Arnott, has signed a deal with the St. Louis Blues.
