Caps acquire Mike Ribeiro
The Washington Capitals have acquired center Mike Ribeiro from the Dallas Stars in exchange for Cody Eakin and the 54th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Ribeiro, a 32-year-old pivot, played in 74 games for the Stars this season, scoring 18 goals and 45 assists for 63 points. He figures to fill the Caps' hole at second-line center.
Eakin and the pick acquired from Colorado as part of the Semyon Varlamov head to the Lone Star State.
