Playoff karma

Like all Washington Capitals fans, we were dismayed and disgusted by the way our local pro hockey team bowed out of the playoffs in the first round after earning a President's Cup and a #1 seed going into the postseason. One series after eliminating the Capitals four games to three, the 8th-seeded Montreal Canadiens have knocked out reigning NHL-champion Pittsburgh Penguins, also in seven games.

The crap rained down on the Caps and their star Alex Ovechkin like nothing you would believe after the series loss to the Habs last month. Ovechkin was repeatedly compared unfavorably to Sidney Crosby, who owns both a Stanley Cup and a gold medal from the Vancouver Olympics.
