Caps extend Hendricks two years

The Washington Capitals have signed F Matt Hendricks to a two year contract extension.
Hendrick has played in 57 games this season and has scored 7 goals and added 12 helpers with a solid 121 hits. Hendrick played for HC Bruce Boudreau prior to this season in Hershey, but was signed in free agency by the Colorado Avalanche. After being released by the Avs, Hendricks was invited to Caps camp on a try out basis and won himself a roster sport.
Hendrick has quickly become a fan favorite for his aggressive, if at times, pesty play. He has recorded 121 hits and is not afraidto take the gloves off and fight. He provides the Caps with some rare toughness they needed.
