Caps lose 5th straight
For the first time in HC Bruce Boudreau's tenure, the Washington Capitals have lost their 5th consecutive game, falling to the Colorado Avalanche tonight 3-2. Even worse, the Caps lose their fourth conseuctive contest at home.
Unbelievable.
Caps have struggled with injury and the flu bug, but a fifth consecutive loss has to be a bit unsettling and troubling. If Tampa Bay wins tonight at 10:30PM, they will pull within 3 points of the Capitals in the Southeast Division.
Caps only put two goals on the net. The offense is disappearing in Washington. The Caps have put up a mere 7 goals in their last 5 games. Four fo those seven came in a 5-4 OTL to Toronto.
Caps goal goals tonight from Mike Knuble and Matt Hendricks. Hendrick played a helluva game against his former team that did not resign him in this off-season. Hendricks put 5 shots on goal and played a heavy hitting game, deserving kudos from us. Michal Nuevirth stopped 23 of 26 shots but took the loss.
Washington faces the New York Rangers tomorrow night in New York. Hate to say it, but the road may very well be what the Capitals need.
