Caps release DJ King, shake lines
The Washington Capitals have waived F DJ King. If King clears waivers, he could return to the Capitals. I have to admit, the trade for King was puzzling when it was made, and given the amount of games that King plays per season here in DC, even more puzzling now. The move never did nor does it make any logical sense.
As for the Lines, Mike Knuble is not very happy today. It has been revealed that Knuble was relegated to the fourth line. Jason Chimera moved up to the second line. Here were the lines from practice today:
Line 1: Ovechkin - Backstrom - Brouwer
Line 2: Chimera - Johansson - Semin
Line 3: Hendricks - Laich - Ward
Line 4: Knuble - Halperin - Perreault
In addition, Bruce Boudreau is not optimistic on Mike Green playing tomorrow night, although he did say Green is getting close. I have been a pretty big critic of Green the past few season, but his level of play, intensity, and offense is being missed right now. They are also missing Green's power play presence.
