Caps fall to Bruins, down 2-1

The Washington Capitals fell to the Boston Bruins 4-3 tonight at the Verizon Center. Late in the third period, with two Caps and two Bruins in the sin bin, the Capitals gave up a a Zdeno Chara goal at the 18:07 mark to send the series back to Boston with a 2-1 series lead for Boston.

Capitals got goals from Alex Ovechkin, Alexander Semin, and Brooks Laich. After nearly 9 periods of play with just 4 goals, the Caps and Bruins put seven tallies on the board tonight. Braden Holtby takes the loss, allowing 4 goals on 29 shots.

Brooks Laich had a three point night, factoring in all three Caps goals, with a goal and two assists. the Caps out shots the Bruins 32-29, but were out hit 58-36.

The series heads back to Boston on Thursday evening.
