In the midst of the Redskins free agency frenzy, Caps news flashes seem few and far between. Overshadowed by the signings of Pierre Garçon, Josh Morgan, and Eddie Royal is news that Capitals nation should be very excited about. Star center Nicklas Bäckström, who has been out of the lineup for over three months, has skated for consecutive days for the first time since taking an elbow to the face from Rene Bourque on January 3rd.
Bäckström, who has spent the last few weeks rehabbing and taking time away from the team with his family in Sweden, appeared in good spirits as he took to the Kettler ice on Tuesday, and then again on Wednesday. While the news may well be insignificant, the 24-year-old claims to be feeling a lot better, and a return could finally be on the horizon.
