The Washington Nationals improved to 4-2 in Spring Training after defeating the New York Yankees 10-8.

Ian Desmond was 2-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs.  He is batting .385 in Spring.  Ryan Zimmerman also drove in 2 runs and went 2-3.  Bryce Harper was 1-2 with an RBI.  Jeff Frazier and Brian Bixler each had two hits and Frazier drilled a home run to help lead the Nationals offensive surge.

Chad Gaudin got the start for the Nats and he allowed 5 hits and 3 runs in 3 innings.  Promising rookie Josh Wilkie had a rough outing, getting credit with a blown save, allowing 4 hits and 3 runs over 1 inning.  Craig Stammen (1-0) picked up the win tossing 2 shutout innings.  Promising prospect Adam Carr through a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the save.  He did not allow a hit and struck out one.

Some decent batting averages to start the Spring for some of the young Nationals.  Wilson Ramos is 4-8, hitting .500.  Danny Espinosa is batting .455, Ian Desmond is batting .385, and Roger Bernadina is batting .364.  Chris Marrero is 4 for 7 in his first Spring at bats.
