Nats Minor League wrap (4/29)
Syracuse Chiefs (AAA) - 13-7, first place
The Chiefs won 5-3 last night. Chuck James pitched 5 innings, allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, but improved to 2-0. Doug Slaten pitched 2 shutout innings and struck out 4. Joel Peralta picked up his 4th save and lowered his ERA to 0.90. Chase Lambin and Josh Whitesell homered for the Chiefs. Lambin was 3-4, hit his 5th homer, scored twice and drove in 2 runs. Mike Morse was 2 for 4.
Harrisburg Senators (AA) - 10-10, 4th place
The Senators won last night 5-2 behind Matt Chico. Chico pitched 5 innings, allowed 1 hit and 1 run, but walked 4. Chico has to tone down the walks if he wants to see Nationals Park again. Erik Arnesen recorded his 2nd save. Leonard Davis homered, his 3rd, and drove in 3 runs. Bill Rhinehart also homered for the Senators.
Potomac Nationals (A) - 8-11, 3rd place
Nats got pounded by Myrtle Beach 10-5 last night. 2009 draft pick AJ Morris got battered for 5 runs in 4 innings. He scattered 4 hist and 4 strikeouts. His ERA is still lwo at 2.25. Fellow draft classee Tyler Moore homered, his 2nd of the year. Moore, Steve Lombardozzi, Ortis, and Edgar Baez each had 2 hits.
Hagerstown Suns (A) - 11-9, 2nd place
The Suns defeated Augusta 7-2. Paul Demny pitched 4.2 innings allowing 2 runs and 4 walks. 2009 draftee Mitchell Clegg pitched 4.1 scoreless innings and struck out 5 to earn his 2nd win. Fransisco Soriano went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Destin Hood also doubled and scored a ru. Justin Bloxom drove in 2 runs. he is hitting .338 on the season.
