Storen moving on up to AAA

The 10th pick overall in the 2009 Draft, 9 spots after Stephen Starsburg, Drew Storen, has been promoted from Harrisburg (AA) to Syracuse (AAA).

Storen has been nothing but terrific since he was drafted in 2009 and signed quickly with the Nationals.  Expected and drafted to be the Nats future closer, Storen has done nothing but reinforce the confidence.

Last season, Storenpitched between A and AA.  Combined, he finished 2009 pitching in 28 games and posting a2-1 record with 11 saves and a 1.95 ERA.  In 37 innings, Storen recorded 49 strikeouts.

This season, Storen has pitched exclusively at AA Harrisburg.  He has appeared in 7 games and has 4 saves with an impressive ERA of 0.96.  He has allowed just 1 run in 9.1 innings of relief work.   He will now take over closer duties in Syracuse.  One step away from the Big Club.

Other Moves:

Starting pitcher Jeff Mandel was promoted from Harrisburg to Syracuse.  Dan Lyonswas sent from Potomac (A) to Hagerstown (A).
