Nats minor league wrap (4-30)

Syracuse Chiefs (AAA),13-8, last place

The Chiefs fell 3-2 in Jeff Mandel's AAA debut.  Mandel tossed 5 innings, allowed 4 hits and just 1 run.  A very solid debut for Mandel, after posting a 3.86 ERA in 4 starts at Harrisburg.  Josh Wilkie (2-2) took the loss out of the bullpen pitching .1 innings and allowing the winning run.  Kevin Mench was 2-4 with an RBI, Seth Bynum was 2-3 with a double and Chris Duncan was 3-4. 

Harrisburg Senators (AA), 10-10

Sens were off last night.

Potomac Nationals (A), 9-11, 2nd place

Potomac defeated Myrtle Beach last night 5-4.  2009 draftee Evan Bronson pitched 6 solid innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and striking out 3.  Dan Leatherman (1-0) blew the save opportunity but picked up the win allowing a run in 2 innings.  Michael Burgess (.266) went 2-4 with a double and homer and drive in 2 runs. 

Hagerstown Suns (A), 12-9, 2nd place

The Suns won 6-4 last night behind another strong effort on the mound by 2009 draftee Daniel Rosenbaum (1.57).  Rosenbuam pitched 6 innings allowed 6 hits and 2 runs with 5 strikeouts.   Rosenbaum seems Potomac bound soon.  Justin Bloxom was 1-4 with an RBI and JP Ramirez homered and drove in a run for the Suns.
