Strasburg shaky in AA start, may be promoted
Washington Nationals phenom rookie Stephen Strasburg is expected to be promoted to the Syracuse Chiefs (AAA), possibly as early as today. Strasburg is rumored to be making his major league debut with Washington sometime in early June, so that gives him at least 5 starts at AAA. The original plan with Strasburg would be to have ghim make 5 starts at AA and 5 starts at AAA before arriving in the major leagues.
Strasburg started yesterday at Harrisburg had had his first difficult professional outing. Strasburg pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowed 6 hits and four runs (3 earned), with 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Overall at the AA level, Strasburg is 3-1 with a 1.64 ERA, allowing 13 hits, 6 walks, and struck out 27 in 22 innings.
