The Washington Nationals struggling opening day starter John Lannan has been demoted to the Harrisburg Senators (AA).  Lanna has struggled nearly all season, posting a 2-5 record with a 5.76 ERA.

Over his last three starts, he has allowed 31 hits and 16 runs in just 13 innings.  He has not made it past the 5th inning over his last three starts.

Replacing Lannan is Joel Peralta, who was called up from Syracuse Chiefs (AAA).  Peralta's promotion is well deserved.  In 28 games, Peralta is 2-0 with 20 saves and an impressive ERA of 1.08.  In 33.1 innings, he recorded 38 strike outs to just 8 walks.
