Written by Mark Buterbaugh on . Posted in Washington Nationals

The Major League Baseball Draft is just three days away.  The MLB Mock Draft Database, a list of all the MLB mocks we could find, is 55 mocks strong.   We used the 19 most updated mocks, mocks updated between May 25 and today, to determine the Top 5 projected leaders in the Mock Draft Database.   Surprisingly, the Top 4 picks are substantially over 50% for each slot.  As has been since we started updating the MLB Mock Draft Database for the 2012 MLB Draft, P Mark Appel is the solid first overall projected pick by mock writers.  Here are your Top projected leaders according to the 19 most updated mock drafts:

1st Pick:  Houston Astros

Projected Leader:  P Mark Appel (68% of mocks)

2nd Pick:  Minnesota Twins

Projected Leader:  OF Byron Buxton (58% of mocks)

3rd Pick:  Seattle Mariners

Projected Leader:  C Mike Zunino

4th Pick:  Baltimore Orioles

Projected Leader:  P Kevin Gausman

5th Pick:  Kansas City Royals

Since we are a Washington DC sports site, we also look at the 16th overall pick for the Washington Nationals.  There is no clear projected leaders.  Here is the breakdown.
