Nats Minor Report (5/27)

The Syracuse Chiefs (AAA) were off last night.  Syracuse is 27-17 and sits atop the International League’s North Division with a .5 game lead. 

The Harrisburg Senators (AA) blew a strong start by Aaron Thompson (2-6) and fell 3-1.  Thompson threw 7 innings of 1 run ball, allowing 4 hits and striking out 4, but took the loss.  Harrisburg out hit Bowie 10-5, but just got not get runners in.  Jesus Valdez and Marvin Lowrance each had two hits.  Jhonotan Solano had the Sens only RBI.  Harrisburg is 22-24. 

The Potomac Nationals (A) lost to Kinston 7-0.  Evan Bronson (1-3) pitched 4.1 innings allowing 7 hits and 2 earned runs to take the loss.  The nationals only managed 2 hits, each coming from Bill Rhinehart and Tyler Moore.  Potomac is 21-26.

The Hagerstown Suns (A) lost in a 25 hit, 21 run slugfest to Lakewood, 11-10.  Paul Demny, Kyle Morrisonn, and Ron Wort combined for 5.2 innings and allowed 7 runs.  Wanel Vasquez earned the loss pitching 1.1 innings.  The reliable 2009 draft pick Dean Weaver blew his 2nd save.  Steve Souza went 3 for 5 and his 8th home run and drove in 3 runs.  C Jose Leon was 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs.  Brett Newsome went 2 for 4 and drove in 2 runs.
