Minor League wrap: Kimball promoted, earns AA win

DISCUSS IN OUR MINOR LEAGUE THREAD

Syracuse Chiefs(AAA) lost 2-1 in a rain shortened game last night.  Shairon Martis (2-3) took the loss, pitching 6 innings and allowing 2 runs.  Kevin Mench went 1-3 with a double and an RBI, while Chase Lambin continues his tear, going 2-2 and raising his batting average to .331.  Lambin is hitting .389 over his last 10 games.

Harrisburg Senators(AA) won in a 10 inning   that featured 28 hits and 19 runs.  Senators won on a 10th inning double by Jesus Valdez that brought Brad Coons into score.  Tom Milone pitched 5 innings, allowed 11 hits and 5 strikeouts.  Adam Carr got hammered out of the bullpen for 3 runs in 1 inning.  Cole Kimball (1-0), called up to AA and in his first AA appearance earned the win, pitching a scoreless 10th inning.   On the season, Kimball is now 4-0 with 6 saves and an ERA of 1.75.  Promotion --- deserved!

Potomac Nationals (A) did not play.

Hagerstown Suns (A) were postponed in the top of the 5th inning.
