Nats Minor Report: Moore smacks 25th homer

Syracuse Chiefs (AAA) lost 5-3 despite getting 6 shut out innings from starter Matt Chico.  Chico threw 6 scoreless innings and yielded 6 hits and 5 strike outs.  Josh Wilkie provided 2 shut out innings and struck out 5 batters.  Atahaulpha Severino (4-3) allowed 2 hits and 3 runs in just .1 inning to take the loss.  Seth Bynum hit a pinch hit home run, his 13th on the season.  Leonard Davis was 1 for 3 with an RBI.  He is hitting .343 over his last ten games. 

Harrisburg Senators (AA) won 10-1 last night behind one of the best pitcher sin the Nationals system.  Tom Milone (10-5) threw 6.2 innings, allowed 1 run, scattered 7 hits, and struck out a whopping 13 batters.  Jesus Valdez was 2 for 5 and smacked his 8th home run. Chris Marrero had a live bat, going 4 for 5, hitting his 15th home run, and driving in 4 runs.  He is hitting .287.  Devin Ivany went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.  Tim Pahuta hit his 9th AA home run, 19th overall.

Potomac Nationals (A) won 9-1.  Trevor Holder (2-2) pitched 5.2 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 run and struck out 5.  Newly promoted reliever Rob Wort threw a scoreless inning and struck out the side.  Tyler Moore went 2 for 5, smacked his Nats system leading 25th home run and drove in 5 runs.  In his last 10 games, he is hitting .306 with 4 home runs and 10 RBI.  Moore leads the Carolina League with 25 home runs and leads the League in RBI  (94).  Derek Norris and Francisco Soriano each had two hits. 

Hagerstown Suns (A) was postponed from rain.

Vermont Lake Monsters (Short A) lost 4-3.  Billy Ott allowed 2 hits and 3 walks with 2 runs over 3 innings to take the loss.  Wade Moore was 2 for 3.  He is hitting a whopping .485 over his last 10 games with 11 RBI. Overall, Moore raised his average to .287.
