The Washington Nationals made some roster moves today.

First, C Carlos Maldanaldo becomes the fourth catcher this season to spend time on the disabled list.  Nats placed the backup catcher on the DL.  To replace Maldanaldo on the roster, the Nats recalled Tyler Moore.

Additionally, the Nationals placed reliever Henry Rodriguez on the disabled list and activated reliever Brad Lidge from the DL.  Lidge pitched a scoreless inning for the Single A Potomac Nationals last night, recording two strikeouts.

MLB Draft SigningsAdam Kilgore from the Washington Post reports the Nats have signed 2nd round pick IF Tony Renda and 4th rounder OF Brandon Miller.

Minor Leagues:  P Nathan Karns, who has been having a stellar season in Hagerstown with an ERA just above 2.00, has been promoted to Single A Potomac.  A well deserved promotion.  Another well deserved promotion was Cameron Selik from Hagerstown to AA Harrisburg.  Selik was handling the closer role in Hagerstown with pretty decent effectiveness.  He is in the Nationals system leaders in strikeouts out of the pen and saves.
