Nats sweep Red Sox

The Washington Nationals completed a three game sweep of the Boston Red Sox and moved into a two game lead in the National League East. Bryce Harper took off on a hit and run in which Roger Bernadina smacked a double to right that scored Harper and the go ahead run. The Nats completed the sweep a 4-3 win Sunday.

Jordan Zimmermann pitched 7 innings and allowed 7 hits and 3 runs in the start, but did not get a decision. Tom Gorzelanny picked up the win out of the bullpen throwing a scoreless inning. Gorzelanny improved to 2-1 on the season. Tyler Clippard picked up his 8th save.

Danny Espinosa went 2-4 and drove in 2 runs. Ian Desmond and Bernadina each had two hits.

Besides the Nationals three game sweep of the Red Sox, the Nats have now won five of the last six games. They moved two games Head of the Atlanta Braves in the NL East. The series sweep also ended Nat's prior 0-9 history at Fenway Park.
