Nats Minor Report: Kimball lowers AA ERA to 1.50

Syracuse Chiefs (AAA) lost 5-2.  Erik Arnesen (2-3) pitched 5.1 innings, allowed 6 hits, a total of 4 runs, only 1 earned, and struck out 4, but took the loss.  Colin Balestar had his back to back scoreless relief appearance, pitching 1.2 scoreless innings and lowering his bloated ERA to 8.59.  Justin Maxwell was 2 for 4 and is hitting .287, Chase Lambin was 1-3 with a double, and Jamie Burke was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Harrisburg Senators (AA) lost 5-4 in 11 innings.  Tom Milone pitched 5.1 innings allowing 8 hits, 4 runs, only 1 earned, and walked 3.  Cole Kimball tossed 2.2 scoreless innings and added 4 strike outs.  He lowered his AA ERA to 1.50.  Overall, Kimball is 4-1 with 6 saves and an ERA of 1.69.   Zechery Zinicola also threw 2 scoreless innings and lowered his ERA to 1.71.  Rafael Martin (2-1) allowed a run on 2 hits in the 11th to take the loss.  Chris Marrero went 1 for 3 with an RBI.  Marrero is hitting .425 over his last 10 games and raised his average to .294.  Jese Valdez added 2 hits and was 2 for 5.  Mike Martinez hit his 6th home run and drove in 2 runs. 

Potomac Nationals (A) won 2-1 behind excellent starting pitching from Brad Peacock (2-8).  Peacock tossed 7 innings and allowed 4 hits, 1 run, and struck out 8.  Dan Leatherman picked up his 3rd save, pitching a scoreless  9th inning and striking out the side.  Tyler Moore (10) and Robert Jacobsen (6) each homered for the Nationals. 

Hagerstown Suns (A) won 4-3.  Paul Demny gave the Suns another excellent start by pitching 7 inings, allowing 6 hits on 1 run and striking out 5.  He lowered his ERA to an impressive 2.89.  Dean Weaver blew the save allowing 2 runs over 2 innings.  Ron Wort (2-0) picked up the win pitching a scoreless 9th inning.  Francisco Soriano was 2 for 5 and hit his 7th home run.  Eury Perez added his 2nd home run.  Both were two run dingers. 

Vermont Lake Monsters (Short A) lost 5-2.  Chad Jenkins pitched 3.1 innings and allowed 6 hits and 4 runs.  Justin Miller went 1-3 with a double and Wilfri Pena was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI. 

Gulf Coast League Nats lost 7-o.
