Nats Minor report: Strasburg, Clegg sparkle
Syracuse Chiefs(AAA) won behind the arm of Stephen Strasburg (4-1), in his final AAA start. Strasburg pitched 5 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits and recording 5 strikeouts. Chris Marrero was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs. He is hitting .269. Mike Martinez went 3 for 4, his second homer and drove in all 4 Senators runs. The Senators have won 3 in a row and 5 of their last 6. They site 8 games back with a record of 28-26.
Potomac Nationals (A) lost 4-3. The Nationals offense only managed 4 hits. 2009 draftee AJ Morris threw 4 scoreless innings and allowed no hits and recorded 4 strikeouts.
Hagerstown Suns(A) won 7-2. 2009 draftee Mitchell Clegg (7-0) is turning into one of the bright prospects from the 2009 draft. Clegg remains a perfect 7-0 after throwing 5 shut out innings and allowing just 2 hits. He lowered his ERA to 3.38. Ron Wort earned his 3rdsave. Jeff Kobernus went 1 for 4 and knocked in 2 runs. Justin Bloxom went 2 for , tripled, scored twice, and drove in 2. He is hitting .304.
