Strasburg injures elbow
Stephen Stradburg mastered the Philadelphia Phillies tonight. As long as he could.
Strasburg suffered an unknown elbow injure and was pulled from the game after 4.1 innings. Strasburg allowed 2 hits, 1 run, and struck out 6, before departing with injury.
Fortunately for the Nationals, If Strasburg has to miss starts, Jordan Zimmerman, who suffered a Tommy John injury last year, is set to return. Zimmerman threw another 5 scoreless innings at Syracuse AAA last night.
In 10 rehab starts, Zimmerman is 1-2 with a 1.59 ERA. In 39.2 innings, he has allowed only 7 runs and struck out 31.
UPDATE:
Strasburg has a flexor tendon in forearm strain and will have an MRI tomorrow.
