Nats minor report: Affiliates get swept for the night
Syracuse Chiefs (AAA) took a 12-3 pounding last night. Erik Arnesen (0-2) got hammered for 5 hits and 7 runs in 4.2 innings. Colin Balestar continues to struggle. He pitched .2 innings, allowed 4 walks and 3 runs boosting his ERA to 11.42. Hard to believe that Bally cracked a MLB roster for a period of time. Offensively, Chase Lambin was 2 for 4 with a double and a run.
Harrisburg Senators (AA) were off.
Potomac Nationals (A) lost 3 -1. Brad Peacock (1-7) took another loss, allowing 7 his and 3 runs in 5 innings. He continues to whiff batters though, recording 9 more strike outs. The nationals only managed 3 hits, 2 coming from Tyler Moore.
Hagerstown Suns completed the losing sweep for the Nats affiliates, falling 7-6. Josh Smoker is struggling. He falls to 0-6, allowing 7 hits and 3 runs in 5 innings to take the loss. Jeff Kobernus, 2009 2ndrounder, was 2 for 5 with a double and a run. He is hitting .242. Justin Bloxom was 2 for 4 and hit his 18th double. His is 5thoverall in the South Atlantic League in doubles. C Hector Tavares was 2 for 3 with a triple.
