Nats Minor Rep: Milone strikes out 12

Syracuse Chiefs (AAA) won yesterday 8-2.  Jordan Zimmerman made his first AAA start on his trek to return to Washington from Tommy John surgery last year, throwing threw three hitless and scoreless innings.  Jeff Mandel (5-6) grabbed the win, throwing 4.1 innings, allowing 1 hit and 1 run.  Boomer Whiting had 2 doubles and 2 runs.  Mike Martinez went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI.  Kevin Mench and Peter Orr actually had two hits.  Seth Bynum drove in two runs. 

Harrisburg Senators (AA) won 7-1 behind a strong effort from an impressive Tim Milone.  Milone (8-5) threw 6.1 innings, allowed just 1 run on 7 hits, whiffing 12 batters.  Milone lowered his ERA to sub-3.00, and sits at 8-5 with a 2.97 ERA.  Rafael Martin threw a scoreless 9th, striking out the side.  Josh Johnson was 3 for 5 hitting his 3rd home run with two RBI.  Marvin Lowrance and Chris Marrero each had 2 hits.  Jese Valdez was 3 for 5 with two runs and two RBI. 

 Potomac Nationals (A) won 7-1 behind the arm of Adrian Alaniz.  Alaniz (6-3) threw 8 innings, allowed 4 hits, 4 strike outs, and just 1 run.  Alaniz is now 6-3 with a 2.36 ERA.  Daniel Lyons was 2 for 5 with a double and 2 runs.  Tyler Moore swing the hot bat, going 2 for 5 and smacking home runs number 19 and 20 on the season and driving in 6 of the Nationals 7 runs.  He is hitting .375 over the last 10 games with 3 home runs and 8 RBI. 

Hagerstown Suns (A) won 8-3 behind a debut start from Billy Ott (1-0), recently promoted from Vermont.  Ott threw 5 scoreless innings and only allowed 1 hit.  Another well deserved promotee, Adrian Sanchez, went 2 for 4 and hit his 1st home run.  Justin Bloxom (11) and JP Ramirez (13) each homered as well.

Vermont Lake Monsters (Short A) lost 7-4.  Matt Swynenberg threw 4 innings, getting racked for 3 hits and 3 runs.  Ryan Demmin (0-1) took the loss, pitching 3 innings and allowing 5 hits and 2 runs.  Chad Mozingo, Ronnoe Labrie, and Kevin Keyes each had two hits.  David Frietas was 2 for 4 and hit his 4th home run, driving in 3 runs.  He is hitting .365. 

Gulf Coast Nats (Rookie) lost 7-3.  Brandon King was rocked for 4 hits and 4 runs in just .2 inning.  Mills Rogers went 1 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI. 

SYSTEM TRANSACTIONS
