Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg

Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson says star pitcher Stephen Strasburg -- last seen mowing down the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night -- could miss his final 2-3 starts of the regular season.

Strasburg is having a fantastic campaign in his first full season after Tommy John surgery, with a record of 15-5, an ERA of 2.85 and 183 strikeouts, tops in the National League. It is believed the Nationals have him on an innings count of 160-180 innings this season and he's already thrown 145 and 1/3 innings. The Nationals are now saying Strasburg should miss the last two or three scheduled starts of the season, as well as all the playoffs, should the Nationals qualify for the postseason.
