Nats minor report: Marcus Jones drives in 6 runs

Syracuse Chiefs (AAA) won last night 4-2 behind strong pitching from Jeff Mandel (4-3).  Mandel pitched 7 innings, allowed 10 hits, struck out 7 and allowed 2 runs to earn the win.  Victor Garate pitched 2 scoreless inning to earn his first save.  Chase Lambin (10) and Chris Botts (3) homered for the Chiefs.  Boomer Whiting was 2-4 with a double.

Harrisburg Senators (AA) lost 4-1.  Ross Detwiler (0-1) pitched 4 innings allowed 6 hits and just 1 run, but took the loss.  Adam Carr threw 3 scoreless innings of relief.  The Senators managed just 8 singles all night, one coming from Tim Pahuta, who knocked in the only Senators run. 

Potomac Nationals (A) won 5-2.  Evan Bronson (3-5) pitched 7 innings, allowed 7 hits and 2 runs t earn the win.  He struck out 5.  Bronosn lowered his ERA to 3.89.  Dan Leatherman picked up his 5th save pitching a scoreless 9th.  His ERA sits at 2.11.  Josh Johnson hit his 2nd home run.  Steve Lombardozzi was 1-3 with a triple.

Hagerstown Suns (A) won 6-4.  Graham Hicks threw 6 innings and allowed 7 hits and 1 earned run.  Patrick Arnold (2-2) picked up the bullpen win, throwing 2 scoreless innings.  Jeff Kobernus went 3-5 and scored 2 runs.  He raised his average to .255.  Justin Bloxom was 2-3 with a run and an RBI, he is hitting .325.  Deston Hood was 2-4 with a double, run,and an RBI.  He is hitting .281.

Vermont Lake Monsters (S-A) won 10-4.  Bobby Hansen (2-1) earned the win, pitching 5 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 runs.  Mark Herrera pitched 2 innings, allowed 1 run on 1 hit.  His ERA sits at 1.29.  Jason Martinson went 1-5 with a double and an RBI.  David Frietas went 2-5 with 2 runs.  He is hitting .313.  Wade Moore also had2 hits.  The big bat on the night was Marcus Jones who went 2-5, smacking 2 home runs and driving in 6 runs.
