Nats Minor: Espinosa homers, Sanchez hitting .450

Syracuse Chiefs (AAA) won 7-4.  Matt Chico pitched 5.2 innings, allowed 8 hits and 4 runs.  Josh Wilkie recorded his 6thsave, throwing 2 scoreless innings.  Brian Bixler, Jason Botts, and Peter Orr each had 2 hits.  Orr drove in 2 runs.  Leonard Davis hit his 13th home run at AAA, 18thoverall on the season. Danny Espinosa was 1-3 and hit his 2nd home run at AAA and 20thoverall.  He scored twice and drove in 2 runs.  Wilson Ramos also scored twice.  Since joining the Nats in the Matt Capps trade, Ramos is hitting .281 with 7 runs and 5 RBI.    

Harrisburg Senators (AA) won 9-6.  Aaron Thompson pitched 5 innings and allowed 4 hits and 5 runs.  Chuck James remains undefeated at AA, picking up the win and improving to 8-0.  He threw 3 scoreless innings and struck out 5.  Overall, Chuck James is 10-1 with 2 saves and a 1.97 ERA.  Cole Kimball picked up his 4th save throwing a scoreless 9th inning.  Kimball has a AA ERA of 2.38.  Overall, Kimball is an impressive 6-1 with 10 saves and a combined ERA of 2.17.  This is Kimball’s first full season as a converted reliever.  Bradley Coon had the big bat, going 4 for 5 with 3 doubles, a triple, and driving in 3 runs. 

Potomac Nationals (A) won 4-3.  Patrick Lehman (4-2) picked up the win out of the Nationals bullpen.  Justin Phillabaum picked up his first save, throwing a scoreless 9th inning.  Tyler Moore went 2 for 4 and drove in his 83rdrun of the year.  His batting average has gone over .250 to .253 after hitting sub-.200 for over half the season.  Moore has been on an absolute tear.  Nick Moresi was also 2 for 4. 

Hagerstown Suns (A) split a double header.  They fell in Game 1 5-4.  Paul Demny pitched just 1.2 innings allowing 3 hits and 5 runs.  Adrian Sanchez went 2 for 4 and scored twice.  JP Ramirez smacked his 14thhome run and doubled while driving in two runs.   In Game 2, the Suns retaliated with a 9-4 win.  Rick Hague went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 runs.  Adrian Sanchez went 2 for 4 with a run.  Since being promoted from the rookie Gulf Coast League, Sanchez has played in 5 games with Hagerstown and is hitting .450 (9 for 20) with 6 runs and 6 RBI.  JP Ramirez went 3 for 4 with 3 runs and an RBi.  Ramirez has a 7 game hitting streak and over that streak is 13 for 28 (.464) and hitting .361 over his last ten games. 

Vermont Lake Monsters (A) won 6-1.  Taylor Jordan (2-2) pitched 5 innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 run.  Ryan Demmin picked up his 2ndsave, throwing 3 scoreless innings.     Chad Mozingo was 2-3 with a double and a run.  Blake Kelso went 2-4 scored twice and drove in a run.  He is hitting .317.   Wade Moore went 2 for 3 and drove in 3 runs.  

Gulf Coast Nationals (Rookie) were postponed.
