MINOR LEAGUE DISCUSSION THREAD

First off, Jason Marquis will pitch in a rehab assignment on Tuesday in Potomac.  We will have his summary here of course.

Syracuse Chiefs (AAA) got hammered 9-1.  Jeff Mandel (2-2) allowed 10 hits, 9 runs, 7 of which were earned, over 5.1 innings to take the loss.  The Chiefs did little offensively outside a 2 hit night for Chris Duncan and a solo home run by pinch hitting Leonard Davis.

Harrisburg Senatorsplayed a double header.  They dropped game one 3-2.  Andrew Kown took the loss, throwing 4 innings, allowing 4 runs, 4 hits and 4 walsk.  Brad coon was 2-3.  Game 2 it was also Chuck James and pitching.  James and the Senators bullpen combined for a no hitter to defeat Altoona 1-0.  James pitched 5 innings of no hit ball, striking out 7, to improve to 3-0.  two reliever who have been stellar for Harrisburg completed the no hitter, Cole Kimball and Zechery Zinicola.  Kimball pitched a scoreless 6th, striking out 2, and maintaining his 0.00 ERA since being promoted.  He has not allowed a run in 8.2 innings.  Zinicola finished off the Curve striking out 2 and picking up his 6thsave.  On the season, Zinicola is 1-0 with 6 saves and a combined ERA of 2.57.  Congrats to the Senators on the no-no.

Potomac Nationals(A) won 3-0 behind a strong start from 2009 draftee Evan Bronson.  Bronson pitched 5.1 scoreless innings, scattering 5 hits, recording 3 strikeouts.  Chris Currenwas 1-4 with a double and a run.  Derek Norris as 2-3 with 2 runs, a double and 2 RBI.  He is hitting .256.  Bill Rinehart was 2-4 with a double and 2 RBi.
