The Washington Nationals, after starting out the season strongly, have fallen into a 4 game losing streak.  The Nationals feel to the St. Louis Cardinals 6-2 last night.

The Nats managed 8 hits, 6 coming from Ian Desmond, who went 4 for 4 and Adam Kennedy, who went 2 for 4. Each also scored a run, making up most of the Nationals lacking offense.

Craig Stammen (1-2) pitched 6 innings and allowed 6 hits and 4 runs over 6 innings.  2009 first round pick Drew Storen made his major league debut last night, pitching .2 innings and not allowing a run and recording his first major league strikeout.  Congrats to Drew on a successful debut out of the Nationals bullpen.   Current Nats closer Matt Capps got roughed up for 3 hits and 2 runs in 1 inning, raising his ERA to 1.77.

Nationals face the Cards again tonight.  John Lannan will take the mound against Chris Carpenter.  Lannan will try and find his grove he has failed to find so far this season. Lannan, the Nats Opening Day starter, is 1-2 with a 6.51 ERA.
