Should the Nationals shut down Strasburg before the playoffs?

Written by Thomas Threlkeld on . Posted in Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals have announced their intention to shut down star pitcher Stephen Strasburg with two or three starts left in the regular season and hold him out for the playoffs, as well. The Nats are concerned about straining Strasburg's arm in light of the Tommy John surgery he had in late 2010. It has become an incredibly controversial decision, with people weighing in both sides with considerable force and ferocity. So we ask you, the audience: Should the Nationals shut down Strasburg or should they keep pitching him because doing so gives the team a better chance to win the World Series?
