Redskins sign McIntosh, cut two
The Washington Redskins have signed LB Rocky McIntosh to his tender. McIntosh has held out signing before today, at times expressing displeasure of not getting offered a long term deal with Washington. However, with a new coaching staff and defensive scheme change in place, the Redskins opted to not pursue a long term contract right now. Smart move. Make Rocky show he can excel in the new 3-4 defense being installed by new DC Jim Haslett.
Additionally, the Redskins have released K Justin Medlock and OT Paul Fanaika. Does Medlock's release mean K Graham Gano enters training camp in July unchallenged? Little surprising, especially given the fact Mike Shanahan had been s proponent of competition at nearly every roster spot.
