Landry leaves Redskins training program

Comcast Sports is reporting that safety Laron Landry has left the Washington Redskins offseason training program after hearing his name included in trade negotiations with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Landry, the 6th overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, has shown flashes of amazing ability, but has never come close to living up to his draft position. He rarely creates turnovers and has become a sloppy tackler due to his tendency to always try for the big hit.

It is believed the Eagles had little interest in Landry and it isn't clear what teams, if any, the Redskins have offered Landry to apart from Philadelphia.

We will stay on this story as it appears to be developing...

UPDATE:  From Kelli Johnson Twitter, CSN Washington.  I'm told Landry will b back tomorrow & here for the skins mini-camp this weekend. Smart move; Does not want 2 make himself a target 4 shanny

I translate that too mean that Landry does not want to be seen as a player with an attitude.  I still think the Redskins will try to trade Landry and still believe Landry would be fine with a trade.
