The Washington Redskins have begun the mandatory roster cutdown to the magic number 53.

UPDATE: Redskins release OT Clint Oldenburg, LB Robert Henson, and LB Curtis Gatewood, DT Howard Green, WR Bobby Wade, DE Darrion Scott, OG Chad Rinehart, S Anderson Russell

UPDATE: Redskins release QB Richard Bartel. Also release G Erik Cook.

UPDATE: Redskins release S Tyrone Carter. Also release OL Selvish Capers and OL Will Robinson.

UPDATE: Now being reported that CB Justin Tryon was NOT cut but traded to the Colts.

UPDATE: DE Rob Jackson has been released. TE Logan Paulsen released. Both Jackson and Paulsen told they will go to practice squad

UPDATE: Redskins reportedly release FB Carey Davis as expected

UPDATE: WR Terrence Austin has confirmed he will be in the Redskins practice squad. That's two down and a bit if a surprise. I thought Austin played well enough to crack the roster

The Redskins have made their first roster reduction by releasing CB Ramzee Robinson. Robinson is not eligible for the practice squad. He was in a battle for the final corner back spot. This is likely good news for either Justin Tryon or Byron Westbrook.
