Union head attacks Haynesworth
Does anyone like Fat Albert? Right now, it seems as if no one does.
If the Redskins go after that $21 million Albert Haynesworth took from them in bad faith earlier this offseason, the NFL Players Association will have to defend one of their own...whether they like it or not. It appears the President of the NFLPA, Kevin Mawae, likes it not.
"You know, what do you say?" Mawae said, right after saying all that he needed to say. "I mean, you're getting paid a ton of money to play less and you're complaining about it. At the end of the day it's one thing to be a football player and get paid lots of money but there's a whole lot more to be said about being a man. . . . [H]e can be one of the best in the league and I've said that to him in his face before. But to this point he doesn't want to do it on a consistent basis."That's the head of the player's union! Not only does Mawae admit Haynesworth is at fault here [in a moral if not legal sense], but he also alludes to the fact that Haynesworth is a rotten teammate and people have known this about him since he played in Tennessee.
A bit more research on Haynesworth by Dan Snyder and Vinny Cerrato might have saved the Redskins a lot of trouble...and a lot of money.
