Live Mic: Clinton Portis
"[I'm] having fun. Football is having fun," Portis said. "Coach [Mike] Shanahan says he's the one under pressure. Go out and play and do the things he asks you to do and have fun. Having everything at a professional level makes it easier. All the pressure's gone. We can just come in and go play.
"Everything that happened before this, it was crazy around here," Portis said, "but it's a new year."

Speaking of Clinton Portis, one thing that has bugged me is the media previews that have ranked the Redskins running game 30th or at the least, the worst part of the offense. I really believe that those in the media that just tend to write for story headlines and don't follow the Redskins that closely, are way underestimating Portis. He is only 28.
Further, don't underestimate the power of revitalization. Portis is clearly reenergized playing under Mike Shanahan and a legitimate coaching staff and front office structure. Portis is not only content and happier, but he will be playing with some pretty powerful motivators, such as, the media writing him as a has been. Portis clearly was unhappy in the Zorn offense. Can you blame him? Did you, as Redskins fans, ever really have much confidence a Zorn sorta of led offense was, at best, even competent? If you didn't, then how do you think those that played in it felt?
