Colt Brennan released
The Cult of Colt, as some call it, has come to an official end in Washington, DC. As expected, with the acquisition today of QB John Beck from the Baltimore Ravens, Colt Brennan has been released. Brennan fell behind Richard Bartel in training camp.
The release of Brennan takes the Redskins back to four quarterbacks: Donovan McNabb, Rex Grossman, Bartel, and Beck.
Brennan, a side armed QB,m was drafted by the Redskins in the 6th round the 2008 NFL Draft out of Hawaii. While at Hawaii, Brennan set the NCAA record by throwing for 58 touchdowns. Brennan was placed on the injured reserve list last year by the Redskins after undergoing hip surgery.
