McNabb growing comfortable

QB Donovan McNabb may have never wanted to leave Philadelphia, but one thing is clear, he is growing more and more comfortable as a Washington Redskin.      Along with McNabb though, a few Eagles fans have been converted.

"It's a breath of fresh air [to be with the Redskins]. Especially with everything that happened over the last 3 years with, 'Will he be here? Will he be gone? Is this it? Do we move on now?' When it finally happened, it was like, OK, now I can finally just play football. I can start over and hit this thing running."

And McNabb has absolutely no concerns about coming into a 4-12 team.  In fact, he is relishing the challenge.

"You come here [to the Redskins], it's like, will we win more than four games? Will we make it to the playoffs? That's the thing that excites me because it's the [same kind of] challenge [as 1999].

"That's the drive to lead this team to the playoffs. To be able to experience that again. They haven't been in the playoffs in what, 4 years? To be able to get back to that point, that's what the fans are looking for. And that's what's driving me."

As for being a Washington Redskins fan and blogger, it is a thrill for the first time in years to enter a season where quarterback is NOT the question mark.   No longer can the argument be made that it all depends on the quarterback.  Yes, some will say, well, a lot rides on Mcnabb’s adjustment.  Whatever.  McNabb is a consummate pro.  No matter what system McNabb is in, McNabb will adjust,.  Why?  Because he is good, just damn good.

Unfortunately for the redskins, the one thing that can potentially hold back Mcnabb is the Redskins wide receivers.  The group is not impressive.  Then again, outside the last two season, McNabb was used to that in Philadelphia.  So there goes another excuse.
