Washington Redskins HC Mike Shanahan gave a brief update on player injuries coming out of the big win over the Saints in New Orleans yesterday.

Unfortunately, for S Jordan Bernstine, his rookie season ended in just one game.  The Redskins seventh round draft selections suffered a season ending, serious  knee injury.  According to Shanahan, Bernstine injured 'almost every thing in his knee" meaning he injured all three ligaments, the ACL, MCL, and PCL. He will be placed on season ending injured reserve this week and Shanahan did confirm thy will be adding a safety.

Long Snapper Nick Sundberg played valiantly through three quarters with a broken arm.  He is now in a cast up to his shoulder.  Shanahan confirmed that Sundberg would not be long snapping this week and that they will be working out long snappers tomorrow.

WR Pierre Garcon was banged up during his 88 yard TD reception early in the game.  He did not return in the second half.  Shanahan confirmed X-Rays were negative.  Redskins will wait and see with Garcon for this week, but Garcon insists he will be ready.

UPDATE: The Redskins have signed DB Jordan Pugh, a 2009 6th round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers, to replace Jordan Bernstine on the 53-man roster. Pugh has played in three NFL games, all for the Panthers, intercepting one pass and returning 11 kickoffs for an average of 24.5 per return. Pugh himself made the announcement on Twitter
