Where do Redskins players rank among NFL's best?
Scouts, Inc. has rated the 200 best NFL players and there are no Redskins among the top 20. Peyton Manning is first, Andre Johnson is second and a bunch of guys, including Darrelle Revis and Tom Brady, are tied for third. The highest-ranked Redskin is, unfortunately and predictably, DL Albert Haynesworth at 22.
More hopefully, SLB Brian Orakpo is rated the 51st best NFL player, right next to last year's Defensive Rookie of the Year Brian Cushing, who is suspended for the first four games of this season because he was on steroids last season. TE Chris Cooley and ILB London Fletcher are the next-highest-rated Redskins, coming in at a tie at 122. QB Donovan McNabb is tied at 133 with a bunch of guys, including RT Jammal Brown. The final Redskin on the list is WLB Andre Carter at 191. If you're counting, that's 6 Redskins rated among the top 200.
Among our NFC East rivals, the Giants have 7 players in the top 200, the Cowboys have 11 in the top 200 and the Eagles have only 5. Here is the full list of NFC East players:
