Happy Birthday Sean Taylor (CMigrator copy 1)

He would have been 27 years old today if not for a very tragic murder that struck to the heart of a City, the Nation's Capital, an entire Franchise from present to past, and to an entire professional league.

It was one of the saddest moments I can recall.  I will never forget going to bed and hoping and praying Taylor a quick recovery, then waking, logging on a forum, and seeing the RIP in front of the thread I posed it in the night before.  Sent chills up and down my spine.  Caused me to simply lean back in my desk chair, pause for a full minute in complete bewilderment and disbelief.

Sean Taylor, a player who began a career with some personal problems, finally began turning his personal life around all because of the birth of a beautiful daughter, and that turn around was reflecting on the field, as Taylor's play became more consistent and elevated his game to the point that he was considered one of the two best safeties in all the NFL.  But even further, Sean Taylor was a very proud father of a brand new daughter who's birth transformed him, the person.

It was all cut short with one senseless act of greed and violence that ended with Sean Taylor trying to protect what was most valuable to him --- his family.  It ended with a shot in the leg, in a position where the fight for life was too much, even for Sean Taylor.  So today, we celebrate the short life of Sean Taylor and honor the personal transformation he had undergone, one that someday, his daughter will understand and be very proud of.  Happy Birthday Sean Taylor!
