Chris Cooley back with the Redskins
DISCUSS THE REDSKINS IN OUR FAN FORUM
Captain Chaos is back. That's right, TE Chris Cooley, one of the most beloved Redskins of the last decade, has returned to the team that released him during the preseason.
Cooley passed his physical this morning and signed a contract to return to the team that drafted him in the third round in 2004, the only NFL team he has ever played for.
Cooley replaces injured TE Fred Davis, who tore his Achllies Tendon in the first half against the Giants yesterday. Davis, the team's leading receiver with 23 catches for 312 yards entering yesterday's game, will be out for the remainder of the season. The team also has Logan Paulsen and Niles Paul at tight end, though Paul is still learning the position. Paulsen caught 4 passes for 76 yards in relief of Davis yesterday.
For you fantasy footballers out there, ESPN expert Eric Karabell recommends those who had Fred Davis should move on, perhaps to another Redskins tight end. Not necessarily the one you might, think, though.
