Redskins place RB Roy Helu on IR
Many Redskins fans wondered yesterday why the Redskins signed veteran RB Ryan Grant.
Wonder no more.
The Redskins have placed second year running back Roy Helu Jr. on the season ending injured reserve. Helu has struggled with turf toe and an Achilles injury. He has been walking in a boot. The Redskins clearly felt that Helu's problem would be season long. It is also an explanation of why Helu's game time has been limited after a solid rookie season.
Grant will join start Alfred Morris and Evan Royster in the Redskins backfield.
